Step by Step Guide to Using InternetSMS
Well done! Now you have created your bulk SMS account let us show you how to make the most of it
STEP 1
It is very vital you manage your phone book properly from day one, as a messy phone book might later result
in frustration when you have added hundreds of contacts. So first thing to do before attempting to send is to create groups or
categories into which you will place your contacts as you add them. You could create contact groups like: Members, Existing customers, friends, family etc.
STEP 2
Having created all the possible groups you would have, the next thing is to start adding contact phone numbers to these groups. For
the private user, its simple and straight forward, just click on add contacts and start inputing your contacts. But for commercial users
this could be quite a daunting
task, particularly if you have hundreds of numbers to deal with, But before you start fretting, SMS store knows this and has created the UPLOAD CONTACTS & IMPORT CONTACTS
features to make this task easy and sweat free.
UPLOAD CONTACTS: This feature allows you to directly add a list of contacts to your phone book in the following pre-specified format (Title, First Name, last Name, Country code, Mobile number)
IMPORT CONTACTS: This feature is useful for those who have an existing database or spreadsheet containing contact numbers which they would like
to add to their phone book. Just click on ADD CONTACTS, select IMPORT CONTACTS and follow the instructions.
STEP 3
After adding your contacts your natural instinct would be 'phew! now we are ready to start sending'. But not quite, before sending there is one more
little chore that needs tidying up and that is setting your SENDER ID or FROM field. This is the name or number from which the message originates. This is a very
useful tool as it enables you to take advantage of the SMS store standard two way messaging service. For commercial users it could be a powerful branding tool
as you could set this as your business name or mobile number. To set this up click on EDIT PROFILE, scroll to the bottom. You have
three sender id options, complete these with your chosen ids and save. It is always advisable to set one up as the mobile number you registered with on SMS store
that way people could reply directly to your message and you receive it on your mobile phone. This is very useful when you send out messages for which you expect
recipients to reply to.
STEP 4
Now you are all set to start your messaging campaign! lets quickly run you through the sending process. The very first thing is to select your method.
CUSTOM: Select this method to send to contacts whose number are not on your phone book, you can send to multiple contacts.
SINGLE: Select this method to send to a single contact from your phone book.
GROUP: Select this method to send to a group on your phone book.
Once you have selected/inputed the recipient, you then go ahead to type your message. After typing you select the SENDER ID or FROM details you would like
the recipient to see and submit your message. Be sure to select your mobile number as sender id if you would like recipients to reply to this message.
You will be shown the message details preview including cost, at this stage you can continue and send or edit the message and continue.
